Helping A Friend
Are you visiting this site to help a friend who may be experiencing an unplanned pregnancy? If so, she or he are very fortunate to have someone like you that cares enough to help with information and support.
Your friend is probably very scared about a possible pregnancy. It could be that she’s experiencing panic and insisting that abortion is her only choice.
The first thing you should do is encourage her to confirm her pregnancy at our center. She doesn’t need to make any decisions until she is sure that she is pregnant. Please consider coming with her for the visit. Our tests are free and we won’t tell anyone of your visit to our clinic.
Our trained client advocates or mentors have spoken with many young women who have experienced an unexpected pregnancy or who may be stressed about the possibility of a pregnancy. We are caring and compassionate. We are not here to preach or judge anyone seeking our help. When a client comes in for a pregnancy test, we take the time to provide her with information about all her options – parenting, adoption, or abortion – and the support services we provide or can refer her to. For more information on our caring Birthright approach of offering compassionate friendship, please refer to Birthright.org. Search for “Our Philosophy.”
Many women initially feel like they have no other choice but abortion. With the information and services we provide, many realize that they have the ability to either single parent, get married, or make an adoption plan. If your friend is pregnant, please understand that her decision could affect you. If she wants an abortion, encourage her to take the time to investigate all her options and not rush a decision while she is still in a state of fear and panic.
This could be a moment in time that you remember for the rest of your life. Be sure to allow those memories to be “comfortable” by providing her with the best support available through our center. Help her to learn more about what a pre-born child looks by coming to visit our center. We can provide clear and accurate information.
Regardless of your feelings about abortion, it’s best to offer your friend everything that can help her make an informed decision. Encourage her to visit us and learn about all her options. In doing so you will be able to look back at this time and understand that you truly helped her in a time of need! If you are the father of the baby, visit our “For Men” page for more specific information.
